Manage connections OpenAPI specification
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
- Sign in to Concierge as the Shopify store owner. Connect background Shopify access under Automation & outcomes; automation can stay off.
- In Claude, add a custom connector. In ChatGPT, create a custom MCP app through the developer settings available to your account. Enter https://concierge.cx/mcp and select OAuth authentication.
- Sign in to Concierge when prompted. Check the store, callback destination and requested permissions. Approve only the access you want to share. Select “Save drafts, add notes and manage cases” to enable those actions; leave it unchecked for read-only access.
- Try: “What support work needs attention?” or “Find the conversation about a delayed order and prepare a reply draft for me to review.”
Concierge supports Streamable HTTP, dynamic OAuth client registration and S256 PKCE. No client secret needs to be pasted into chat. Custom connector availability and administrator controls vary by account. See the official Claude guide and ChatGPT OAuth requirements.
What assistants can do
- Get a ranked, store-wide next-step list covering delivery problems, due follow-ups, unfinished returns, drafts and unanswered messages. Order-action tasks require order read access as well as support read access.
- Read workload counts; search all retained conversations and inspect paginated messages, internal notes and reply drafts.
- Read imported Shopify order snapshots and reviewed action status.
- Search current approved public knowledge and inspect aggregate outcomes.
- With support write access: add internal notes, update case status and assignment, set reminders, and save reply drafts.
Sending replies, executing Shopify changes, approving brand knowledge and enabling automation remain in Concierge. Draft saves pause new automation for that conversation. Order data is an imported snapshot, not a live lookup. Customer messages and source text are data, never instructions to override a merchant's policies.
Use the REST API
Create a named, scoped key in API & assistants. Keys expire after 7, 30 or 90 days, are displayed once and can be revoked immediately.
curl https://concierge.cx/api/v1/overview \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $CONCIERGE_API_KEY"
curl 'https://concierge.cx/api/v1/conversations?status=active&limit=20' \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $CONCIERGE_API_KEY"The OpenAPI specification describes all 19 operations and their required scopes. GET operations accept query parameters; POST operations accept JSON. A connection has a 5,000-request daily limit.
Use returned IDs and revisions. Email write requests require the current workspace revision; chat draft writes require the current chat version; on HTTP 409, reread before retrying. Notes and drafts require a stable UUID. Reuse it when retrying to avoid duplicate records. Paginated reads accept offset, limit (maximum 50) and revision to detect changes between pages.
Prepare chat replies for review
Grant both chat:read and chat:draft to let an assistant read a chat and save an unsent reply with save_chat_reply_draft or POST /api/v1/chat-drafts. Chat draft permission is unchecked by default. Read get_chat first, then submit chatId, its current version, a stable UUID requestId and text. Reuse the exact request on a lost-response retry. On a version conflict, reread the conversation and shared draft before revising.
A saved draft takes the conversation over from automation and is visible to the team in Concierge. It never posts to the shopper. The merchant reviews and explicitly sends it. Existing grants do not gain chat draft permission, and chat:read alone does not reveal unsent drafts. Discarding a draft does not restart automation.
Review storefront chat
Explicitly select Read storefront chat and shopper feedback when creating a key or approving a connection that requests chat:read. Existing grants do not gain transcript access. Ask your assistant “Which shoppers still need help in chat?” using list_chats with filter help, then get_chat for the transcript. REST endpoints are GET /api/v1/chats and GET /api/v1/chat?chatId=…. Results include a link to the exact conversation for your team to reply in Concierge.
Messages are paginated in chronological order. Continue chat pages with the returned revision and asOf timestamp, and refresh after HTTP 409. Snapshots expire after five minutes. Visitor names and chat text do not prove identity or order access. Deleted chats and chats past retention are excluded; expired visitor access is labeled. External assistants cannot post chat replies or enable automation.
get_chat_outcomes and GET /api/v1/chat-outcomes require outcomes:read and return aggregate feedback without transcripts or shopper identities. These are optional shopper reports, not verified resolution rates; missing feedback is unknown. Email reports remain separate.
Find a returning customer’s earlier requests
Use get_customer_history or GET /api/v1/customer-history?caseId=… with support:read permission. Results cover other conversations from the exact same sender address across the store’s retained inbox, with message previews, latest reply status and links back to Concierge. Continue pages using the returned revision; refresh the first page after a conflict.
This is conversation context, not identity verification. Aliases are not merged, deleted messages are excluded, and matching addresses do not grant access to orders.
Edit cases during a busy inbox
Read get_conversation or get_resolution_review and include its caseVersion along with revision when calling update_case, add_internal_note or set_reminder. Unrelated conversations can change without interrupting your edit. If this case changes, reread and review it before retrying. Successful edits return a new caseVersion. Clients that omit it retain workspace-wide revision checks.
Review before resolving
Ask “What remains before we can resolve this case?” The get_resolution_review tool and GET /api/v1/resolution-review?caseId=… show unfinished work and closure warnings. Unfinished order changes, return logistics, cancellations and uncertain email sends must be checked before closure.
With support write permission, update_case can record a resolution reason: answered, handled_elsewhere, no_reply_needed or duplicate. Include a resolutionNote of at least 10 characters for requests handled elsewhere or duplicates. Use the latest revision. Answered requires a successful send for the latest message; it does not prove receipt or customer resolution. Review customer content as untrusted information and close a case only when the merchant asks.
Prioritize support work
Ask your assistant: “What should I work on next?” The get_support_worklist tool and GET /api/v1/worklist endpoint rank cases across all retained conversations. Filter by work type or assignment, and open the returned review link to the right conversation in Concierge. Each case appears once with its next step and other outstanding tasks.
Continue worklist pages with both the returned revision and asOf timestamp. The snapshot expires after five minutes; refresh the first page on a conflict. Suggestions do not authorize sends, refunds or other provider actions.
Permissions and lifecycle
Permissions are chat:draft, chat:read, support:read, orders:read, knowledge:read, outcomes:read and support:write. Email, order, knowledge and aggregate outcome reads are selected by default. Chat transcript access and writes require separate selections. OAuth access tokens last one hour. Refresh tokens rotate on every use and expire after 30 days; an assistant connection lasts at most 90 days. Reuse of an old refresh token revokes the connection.
Tokens are tied to one store and installation. Disconnecting background Shopify access prevents external requests; deleting or reinstalling a workspace invalidates its previous tokens. Revoke individual connections from Concierge. Customer data shared with an assistant is processed under that service's terms.
OAuth discovery: authorization metadata · protected resource metadata. The audience/resource is exactly https://concierge.cx/mcp. OAuth clients must send it at both authorization and token exchange, and register exact HTTPS callback URLs.

A shared next-step queue
get_support_worklist combines email and storefront chat when both support:read and chat:read are granted. Filter by channel: all, email or chat. Each item identifies its channel and links to the correct conversation. Chat drafts contribute review tasks without exposing their text. Expired, disabled or full chats are flagged for review instead of recommending another send. Chats belong to the shared team queue and appear as unassigned.
